Overview

GST returns prepared from the same records as your accounts.

A GST return reports the GST your business collected on sales and the GST it paid on business expenses. We prepare the return from your accounting records, reconcile the amounts and file it for the reporting period that applies to your business.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about GST returns.

ServicesWhen is a GST return due?

It depends on your reporting period. Monthly and quarterly returns are generally due one month after the end of the period. Annual filers generally have three months after their fiscal year-end, with different dates for some individuals with business income. We confirm your dates when your engagement is set up.

Getting startedDo I need to register for GST?

Most businesses must register once their taxable sales pass $30,000 over four consecutive calendar quarters, the small supplier threshold. Some businesses register voluntarily. We can review your situation at a first consultation.

ServicesDo you handle GST filing and tax compliance?

Yes. Our services include GST return preparation and filing, corporate tax returns (T2), personal income tax returns and dividend income reporting. We discuss the filings and support you need before confirming the scope of your engagement.

FeesHow are your fees determined?

Fees are quoted for each engagement and sized to your business. They depend on the services you need, the volume of transactions and the condition of your records: clean monthly statements take less work than a year of receipts in a box. We agree fees before work begins and discuss any additional work with you first.
